· Operation principle of Trellis Coded Modulation (TCM) and Turbo codes.
- Application examples, LAN, GSM, Bluetooth, etc.

Core content level learning outcomes (knowledge and understanding)

n the Unit students become familiar with error detection and correction codes that are used in modern digital systems. The student has knowledge to select a suitable code for an application and analyse its performance. He will also be able to design and implement some important codes.

Core content level learning outcomes (skills)

After completing this course student is able to choose error correction method considering application requirements. He/she can also design some linear block codes and cyclic codes using kombination logic and shift registers.
