Cabling and interference
Shielding, grounding and filtering in electronic systems and their affect on interference
The main topics are basic concepts, , EMC-testing, origins of the interferences, different types of interferences, filtering, shielding.

EU regulations, EMC-testing, electrostatic discharge (ESD)

Core content level learning outcomes (knowledge and understanding)

The student understands the basic concepts in EMC and becomes familiar with the different types of coupling of interferences in electronic equipment.

He/she can evaluate the influence of the interferences and avoid the coupling by proper design or shielding. Also the student knows the regulations and testing procedures after completing the unit.
