Course contents (core content level)
Structure and function of Common Channel Signaling (SS #7) network and protocol stack,
analysis of signaling sequences with a software tool, simplified SS #7 network dimensioning and calculations, mobile networks signaling and SS#7 signaling in packet
switched network.

Core content level learning outcomes (knowledge and understanding)
After completing the unit the students know the structure and general function of the SS#7 protocol stack, they know ISUP messages needed for circuit switched connection establishment and release, are able to analyze simple SS#7 sequences using software tool.

Can trace errors from different SS#7 protocol layers and use analyzer for signaling sequence analysis.
