Prerequisites
A 30 credit internship period is mandatory and a part of the BachelorĀ“s degree programme. It can be completed as an extended 20 week period or in two parts:
10 weeks of basic training and 10 weeks of professional training.
The internship can only begin when the studies for the BachelorĀ“s degree has begun. Prior studies is not accepted as training.
The basic training can be completed also as part-time, 400 hours of work being equivalent to 10 weeks of duty.
Course contents (core content level)
The idea of the basic training is to give the student an opportunity to get acquainted with the internship company, their area of business and in real-life company practices.
The aim is also to acknowledge and identify business as a process.
Course contents (additional)
The intern becomes acquainted with the company and its area of operalisation. The student identifies the context in which the company operates. She learns through her own duties about the company in large and identifies skills and level of requirement and know-how for various duties and tasks.

The objective of the internship is that the student
- becomes acquainted with working life in general
- becomes acquainted with the internship company in specific and its area of business in particular
- reflects upon how to apply theory in practice
- bonds with the company

The students reflects upon her own interest and future area of specialisation.
She identifies and grasps the content and level that is required and demanded for different tasks and duties. She plans her career accordingly.

The basic training is accepted and completed when the intern delivers a report, i.e. encloses a copy of the work certifacte with a cover sheet (please look for more specific instructions in the ovi-portaali).
