Course contents (core content level)

By the end of the course the students will have
* analysed their experiences, skills, abilities, characteristics and goals in order to choose a career direction
* learned to plan their practical training to strengthen their professional skills and a part of their studies
* ability to identify employers requirements in job advertisements and match those needs with key strengths and experience
* learned how to write an effective CV and cover letter
* learned how to avoid the general mistakes in graduate applications
* learned how to prepare for and cope with interviews
This course is part of the practical training course.

Core content level learning outcomes (knowledge and understanding)

This course highlights recruitment process and requirements for students applying for career positions after graduation. The course focuses on applying for international positions through English as well as Finnish positions which have increasing requirements for employment applications in English.

Aims

The aim of the course is to develop awareness of professional and personal growth, assist students in developing an effective and differentiated job application. This will be achieved through self-analysis, identifying strengths and abilities along with creating an effective and differentiated CV and Cover letter. Additionally students will learn about the skills required for the interview process.
