Automatic control engineering, automation and instrumentation

Course contents (core content level)

Form function and control of the most main components in energy production, such as the steam boiler, steam distribution network, turbines, generators, heat exchangers, pumps, fans and tanks. Control technologies of power plants.

Course contents (additional)

Operating principles of district heating and electric distribution networks from the automations point of view.

Core content level learning outcomes (knowledge and understanding)

Student is able to perform calculations based on the process flow chart of a power plant. Student is familiar with the most common energy control technologies and the basics of district heating and electric distribution networks automation.

Student is able to use process modeling software and H/s and t/s diagrams.
