Mechanism of animal cell division, cell cycle and its control system, programmed cell death, cell communication in multicellular organisms, signal molecules and receptors, stem cells and cell differentiation, cytoskeleton and cell behavior, molecular motors, cell junctions, cell adhesion and the extracellular matrix, cells in tissues

Course contents (additional)

Detailed examples of skeletal muscle cells and the mechanisms of muscle contraction, fibroblasts transformations to fat or bone cells, neurons function in brain, eye and ear

Core content level learning outcomes (knowledge and understanding)

After completion of this course the student understand general facts of animal cells, their co-operation and communication in different tissues and in different circumstances and states of life.
