The basic principles of gene cloning; purification and manipulation of DNA, introduction of DNA into living cells, cloning vectors for E.coli and other organisms, gene libraries, PCR, identification of a specific gene, studying gene and genome structure and gene expression and production of protein from cloned genes

After completion of this course the students are able to work not only as technician but also in the role of developer and problem solver in the laboratory utilizing genetic methods
