Aseptic practices, preparation of growth different media, determination of cell counts, maintainance of microbial strains, isolation methods for pure cultures, identification of microbes, use of microscopy and staining methods, determination of sensitivity of microbes for antibiotics, determination of antibiotic titers, implementation of microbial shake cultures, monitoring of microbial growth, control of asepticity, use of autoclaves, preparation of laboratory book

After completion of this course the student understands the significance and practices of aseptic routines and knows how to work in microbiology laboratory and how standard equipment fuction.

After completion of this course the student is able to work properly in microbiology laboratory, analyze test results and document these. Especially the student is familiar with the most important methods in microbiology in practice.
