Course contents (core content level)

Main principles of electric measuring technique. The basic measuring connections of voltage, current resistance power and energy with both DC and AC. Enlarging of the measuring range. Use of the oscilloscope with AC-measurements. Safety during electrical measurements.

Course contents (additional)

Measuring and analysing of the harmonic components, remote measurements, and automatic measuring systems.

Core content level learning outcomes (knowledge and understanding)

After completion of this course the student is able to make the most common connections of the main measuring instruments. Student is familiar with the most common electrical measuring instruments and knows where to use them. Student understands the limits and accuracy of the measuring instruments. Student understands the meaning of safety when making electrical measurements.

After completion of this course the student is able to make basic measurements like current, voltage and power. Student is able to design energy measurement circuits. Student is able to use common measuring instruments correctly and safety.
