Fluid flow and balances, mechanical unit operations 1
Course contents (core content level)
Laboratory exercises of fluid flow and heat transfer (with friction loss, centrifugal pumps and heat transfer equipment), laboratory exercises of mechanical unit operations (with sieving, sedimentation, hydro-cyclone, vacuum, pressure and ultra filters, fluidization, mixing, thickening and milling equipment) and laboratory exercises of mass transfer (evaporation, absorption, leaching and distillation) and a synthesis.

After completion of this course the student will understand the theory of chemical engineering in practice is able to apply it according to his/her profession.

The student is able to compare and analyze experimental results to theory and evaluate inaccuracies of practical work. The student will learn safety and teamwork skills.
