Course contents (core content level)

Atomic structure, chemical bonding, oxidation numbers, naming of inorganic compounds, stoichiometry, phases, mixtures, composition of solutions, chemical reaction and equilibrium, acids and bases, pH of aqueous solutions.

Course contents (additional)

Corrosion as a phenomena, waste and hazardous waste, reducing of waste emissions, environmental protection law.

Core content level learning outcomes (knowledge and understanding)

Students know the atomic structure and common elements, students understand the meaning of mole in chemical reactions, definition and use of pH.

Core content level learning outcomes (skills)

Students can combine name of the element to its chemical symbol, students are able to calculate simple problems connected to amount of matter, mass and concentration. Students can form and balance chemical reactions for given starting materials and products.
