Course contents (core content level)
Most simple active filter design, class A and B power amplifiers, differential and multistage amplifiers, comparators, linear regulators, active load, frequency response of one-stage transistor amplifiers, A/D and D/A converters.
Course contents (additional)
Other active filters, filter theory, class C power amplifiers, analysis of current mirrors, nonlinear regulators, phase and amplitude margin in feedback amplifiers.
Core content level learning outcomes (knowledge and understanding)
After completion of this course the student will understand the operation and is able to design class A and B power amplifiers. The student will be able to analyze differential and multistage amplifiers. The student will understand the properties of comparators and linear regulators. The student will be able to analyze the frequency response of a one-stage transistor amplifier. The student will understand the operation of most common A/D and D/A converters.
Core content level learning outcomes (skills)
After completion of this course the student will be able to design, construct and measure an active multistage filter The student will be able to measure the properties of power amplifiers.

Assessment of the compulsory homework assignments, laboratory reports and the final exam. In order to pass the course (grade 1) the student must successfully complete the individual tests, homework assignments and the laboratory assignments. The final exam only has an effect on the final grade.
