Course contents (core content level)
Discrete time systems. z-transform and its properties. Differential equatins and flow charts. Digital filter design and applications. CAD-methods.
Diskreettiaikajärjestelmät, z-muunnos ja sen ominaisuudet, digitaalisuodattimet; differenssiyhtälöt ja virtauskaaviot, näytteenotto, digitaalisuodattimien suunnittelu; CAD-menetelmät, digitaalisuodatintoteutuksia.
Course contents (additional)
Discrete Fourier transform (DFT). Calculation of DFT through fast Fourier transform (FFT). Effects of finite calculation accuracy. Interpolation and desimation.
Core content level learning outcomes (knowledge and understanding)
After completion of this course the student will understand the fundamentals of digital signal processing. The student will be familiar with the most common digital filter topologies.

After completion of this course the student will be able to design simple digital filters. The student will be able to use z-transform in the analysis of simple discrete systems.
