The internal structure of programmable logic devices, implementation of combinational and sequential logic with programmable logic devices, use of VHDL-hardware description language in designing different programmable logic devices, design flow for CPLD- and FPGA-devices, design tools.

The principles of Digital ASIC-devices and the design flow.

After completion of this course the student will know the properties and the possibilities of the programmable logic devices: The student also knows when it is beneficial to use programmable logic devices.
