Operation strategies, types of processes, materials requirement planning, lay-out planning, production line balancing, master planning, scheduling, E-T-O/A-T-O/M-T-I, JIT production.
Course contents (additional)
Concurrent Engineering, Computer Integrated Manufacturing, OPT, product mix and type of process and their influence on production planning.
Core content level learning outcomes (knowledge and understanding)
After finishing the course the student understands the business role of operations and its links to other functions. The student knows different types of processes and ways of manage the operations. The student knows the principles of lay-out planning. Furthermore, the student knows what internal and external factors have an influence on production control. The student knows as well the influence of product design on operations.

After finishing the course the student can balance a production line and calculate the material requirements balances according to the production schedule.
