Course contents (core content level)
Waste legislation, formation of waste materials and sources of waste. Recycling and reuse of waste material, treatment technology of dumping areas, biodegradable waste- and special waste treatment technology as well as waste incineration.
Course contents (additional)
Establishing and closing processes of dumping areas. Optimizing of biological treatment processes. Special questions of waste incineration and problem waste treatment.
Core content level learning outcomes (knowledge and understanding)
Students understand the importance of waste legislation and they know the main important regulations. Students understand the waste treatment cycle from formation of waste to the final disposal of waste material. Students know the technologies of dumping area treatment, composting, digestion, special/problem waste treatment and waste incineration.

After the course students can operate in waste treatment sector by following waste legislation regulations. Students are able to work in operative and quality tasks in dumping-, digestion- and composting treatment processes and students can act in a proper way in special / problem waste treatment and storage of waste.
