· Architecture of 3G (UMTS) network and its operation principles
· Radio Resource Management and Quality of Service in Third-Generation Wireless Networks
· WCDMA radio interface, codes and channels

· Alternatives for multiple radio access, FDMA, TDMA, CDMA
· Spectrum Efficiency of various multiple access methods
· Characteristics of mobile cellular radio environment

Learn the structure and operation of third generation cellular system core network and radio access network. Understanding of operation principle and characteristics of Wide Band Code Division Multiple Access (WCDMA) air interface of 3G is one topic of the course.
