The transportation planning and design as a part of urban land use planning. The administration and legislation of the Finnish traffic system. The environmental impacts of traffic. Road safety. Public transportation and the land use planning. The process of city planning is a highly complex, step-by-step procedure.

Environmental impacts of the transportation system. Land use planning and public traffic system. Pedestrian and bicycle traffic in urban areas. Traffic network in town areas. Car parking. Requirements of the harbours and terminals. Street design.
