RF spectrum, radiowave propagation modes, fading and multipath propagation, signals, modulation, multiplexing, antennas, FDMA, TDMA, CDMA, cellular network, GSM architecture, HSCSD, GPRS, EDGE, UMTS, MBS, cordless telephones.

WLAN, IEEE 802.xxx standards, ETSI BRAN, Bluetooth, optical LAN (IrDA), RFID.
Core content level learning outcomes (knowledge and understanding)
After completing the unit the student knows RF spectrum and the student is able to understand the principles of wireless transmission and application of radio channel. The student has knowledge of construction and operation of cellular radio network as communication system.
Core content level learning outcomes (skills)
After completing the unit the student has skills to calculate the wavelength and frequency of radiowave and the power loss of radio channel in dB units. The student is able to define the power levels of transmission channel considering transmitter and receiver units.
