Course contents (core content level)

The main destructive testing methods of materials, their perfornance and information obtained. Stress measurement methods. Performance and applications of non-destructive tests. Scope of optical and electron microscopy. Principals and applications of EDS, WDS, XRF and XPS analyses.

Image types in ultrasonic testing. Operating principle of electron microscope.

After completing the course students will know the main materials test and research methods and identify their applicability.
