Course contents (core content level)

Basics of the automation technology. Basic elements of automation. Control system in automation technology, programmable logic controllers. Meaning and basics of the measurement and control technology.

Course contents (additional)

Field devices in automation, basics of the hydraulics and pneumatics. Principles of the automation project, design and implementation.

Core content level learning outcomes (knowledge and understanding)

After completion of the course the student understands from which elements the automation system are constructed. Student understands how the measurement devices are attached into the control system and how the control and supervising is done as well how the field devices are controlled.

Student is able to perform as a member of an automation project and understands the meaning and purpose of different elements in automation system.
