- Automatization of processes
- Definition of the configuration of workstations, servers, and networks along with investment planning
- The active and passive components of the network
- Computer and network maintenance

- Different manufacturer's systems and architectures
- Operation automatization using operating system services
- Additional services, like application servers, workgroup applications, and database systems and their installation and configuration

Core content level learning outcomes (knowledge and understanding)

After completing the course the student knows the basics of computer technology fundamentals and the most general systems architectures and computer networks. In the focus of the course are computer equipment and their operating systems, most important peripherals, and computer network hardware: workstations, servers and other networked systems, and the computer network active components, like hubs, routers, and switches. The right scaling and measuring of these systems are evaluated from the viewpoint of media technology.

Core content level learning outcomes (skills)

After completing the course the student is capable of defining different computer system-based solutions for the working environment of the trade and to plan their acquisition, implementation, and maintenance.
