Course contents (core content level)

The course covers SI units covered by engineering physics, basics of trigonometric relationships, vectors in physics, problem solving in physics, graphical presentation and significant figures. During classes, problems in the fields of engineering physics are worked out.

Core content level learning outcomes (knowledge and understanding)

The course improves general abilities to study physics and engineering. The aim is that the students with different educational backgrounds in physics gain sufficient knowledge and skills necessary for studying engineering and applied physics.

Core content level learning outcomes (skills)

This course yields understanding and mastering of SI units; the student knows how to derive quantities and units covered by engineering physics. Problem solving strategies for basic problems encountered in engineering physics are essential learning outcomes of this course.
