- Typographical design as communication method/media
- What and how the images communicate
- Colour symbolism and affecting by using colours
- Marketing strategies and visual design
- Logos, brands, sign vehicles

Course contents (additional)

- Main issues of visual design history and its effect on the present and possible effects on future
- Other methods for aiding visual design and its analysis, for example the semiotic tool box
- Designing brand image and creating a company imago
- Visual design from the aspect of multichannel publishing

The student can explain the main issues of the theories using correct terminology. The student is able to combine and independently adapt the issues into different usage (additional knowledge)

The student can analyse visual design from different perspectives and create hi/herself different visual elements for different purposes. The student understands the main aspect of creating a brand or company imago.
