Course contents (core content level)
Students will learn about the history and methods / materials of traditional lining techniques both in theory and practice.
Course contents (additional)
Students will learn to assess the suitability and need to use traditional lining methods for canvas paintings, depending on the material, age and level of deterioration of tha canvas paintings. Students will learn to evaluate the ethical ansd esthetical suitability of the lining materials and techniques to each particular painting in question.

Opiskelija ymmärtää vuoraustekniikoiden haitat ja hyödyt eri tilanteissa.
After the course students will know the history, materials and methods of traditional lining techniques used for canvas paintings and are able to assess the suitability of these techniques for different canvas paintings in question.

After the course students are able to practically apply different traditional lining techniques for canvas paintings in case the lining is needed.
