Introduction to Paper (KOPK001)
Course contents (core content level)
Students will prepare standardised fibre samples. These samples will be dyed by using dyeing reagents and examined with the help of microscopes. The aim is to try to specify a plan fibre and/or manufacturing methods of cellulose. A visit to KCL laboratory. The imformation acquired will serve as a basis for future conservation courses when documenting a paper conservation project.

Students will learn to carry out standardised fibre analyses as well as identify fibres by using microscopes and dyeing reagents.
