Course contents (core content level)
This course serves as an introduction to the chemistry of natural materials. The theory behind natural binders will be discussed in accordance with chemical groups. Application examples will be taken from the natural materials used in conservation.

This course enables the student to learn and identify the most important groups of natural materials. He/she will also have a good command of the different effects chemical consistencies have on the use and ageing properties of natural materials.
