Course contents (core content level)
This course introduces the students to the discipline of standards of archive-suitable paper. Suitability of of the marketed paper products for achiving wil be studied acording to the standards. The importance of satefy precautions in conservation will be discussed. Students acquire information about different storage materials use in museums through study visits to archives/museums during Project I Collection management-course. Making of storage boxes and cases out of storage-suitable materials for different purposes.

Students will acquire information about the selection of valid protection materials. Students learn to estimate the suitability of different protection materials for archiving. They also learn to make storage boxes and cases.
