Prerequisites
First and second year professional studies.
Course contents (core content level)
Different manufacturing techniques of metal threads as well as their use in textiles will be presented. Students will expand their previously learned skills in textile conservation.
Course contents (additional)
Corrosion of metal threads and their prevention. Cleaning and protecting methods will be discussed.
Core content level learning outcomes (knowledge and understanding)
Upon completion the student is able to identify and date various metal threads. He/she also understands the risks connected with their cleaning.
Core content level learning outcomes (skills)
Upon completion the course student is able to conserve textile with metal threads, and is able to identify the risks associated to their cleaning. Student is able to put the previously learned into practise.
