Course contents (core content level)
This course covers the manufacture and conservation of ethnographical textiles. Nature of ethnographical textiles and their meaning in conservation, and how does this aspect affect conservation decision. Students are able to put their skills into practise.

Students expand their own authority in conservation and learn ethical aspects of ethnographical material.
Core content level learning outcomes (knowledge and understanding)
Upon completion the course student understands the integrity and context of ethnographical textiles, and their effect in conservation. Student understands the effect of different conservation methods on ethnographical objects. Student realises the meaning of independent research.
Core content level learning outcomes (skills)
Upon completion the course student is able to take the integrity of ethnographical textiles into consideration. Student is able to use her/his skills learned during the course in practise, and is able to draft an appropriate conservation plan and report on a conserved object. Student is able to assess own skills, and is able to give others constructive feed back.
