Course contents (core content level)
Structure, deterioration and conservation methods of painted textiles. Cleaning, support, storage and display of painted textiles. Students will apply previously learned skills to practise. Ethical problematic and material choices associated in banners, flags etc.

Support methods and paint fixing associated in painted textiles. Basics of heraldry.

Upon completion the course student understands the behaviour and deterioration of painted textiles. Student is able to assess the effects of different conservation methods and choose the most appropriate one.

Upon completion the course student is able to conserve painted textiles. Student is able to apply her/his previous knowledge to practise. Student is able to draft an appropriate conservation plan and conservation report on a conserved object.
