Course contents (core content level)
Manufacturing techniques of ecclesiastical textiles, deterioration and conservation methods. Features and problems encountered in ecclesiastical textiles and their taking into consideration during conservation. Students will apply previously learned conservation skills to practise.

Ecclesiastical textiles of different time periods, and their iconography. Ethics encountered in ecclesiastical textiles, and the multi functional nature of ecclesiastical objects during conservation.
Core content level learning outcomes (knowledge and understanding)
Upon completion the course student knows manufacturing techniques of ecclesiastical textiles, and is able to distinguish the typical features of various eras. Student knows the behaviour and deterioration of ecclesiastical textiles. Student is able to assess the effects of different conservation methods and materials, and distinguish the risks associated to them.
Core content level learning outcomes (skills)
Upon completion the course student is able to conserve different ecclesiastical textiles. Student is able to draft an appropriate conservation plan and conservation report on a conserved object. Student is able to put her/his skill into practise.
