Textile materials I
Course contents (core content level)
During the course we will review the concepts of natural fibres, synthetic fibres and fibre mixtures. Fabric structurs and trade names of industrially manufactured clothes. Fabric finishing. Raw material analyses: flammability testing, solubility tests and microscope observation. We will take a closer look at the fabrics when visiting a textile fair and different fabric agents.

Core content level learning outcomes (knowledge and understanding)
The student knows the raw materials of textiles and is able to submit analyses of raw materials in the laboratory. He/she knows the most important fabric structures and trade names for the clothing fabrics.
