Prerequisites

MUAVT0036 or a secondary education degree in clothing trade.

Course contents (core content level)

Draping, pattern making and constructing assignments aimed at designing garments for women of all shapes and sixes. Students design and produce their own women's wear collection and submit a portfolio of their work.

Students will learn about the principles of women's wear measuring, pattern making and manufacturing through given assignments.

Assessment weighting and grading

Regular attendance is required and assignments must be undertaken. Assessment is also based on the outfits chosen from student's own collection designed for the collection portfolio. At the end of the course each student presents his/her collection and take part in the group assessment.
