Course contents (core content level)

How to execute a fashion show.
Fashion photography: Equipment and techniques of fashion photography. Basics of studio and outdoor lightning. Press pictures for adverts about the fashion show.
Fashion show: Planning, organizing and executing the spring fashion show of the faculty as a group and writing a fashion article for a fashion magazine.
Co-ordination the show: Choosing the theme and place, designing the mood, interior and visual outlook of the show. Dividing responsibilities, project schedule, budget planning; income and expenditure, sponsorship. Insurances. Planning the advertisement campaign for the show. Graphical outlook and advertising: posters, flyers, internet pages, multimedia design, tickets, sponsor visibility. Promotion before and during the show. Media: press and television, product sponsorship and vip gifts, catering, choosing the vip guests, mailing the invitations.
Models: make up, hairstyles and hair products, styling the show. Choosing the clothing. Fitting for the models.
Catwalk and coreography: PA-system, set design and special effects, music and copyright payments, multimedia, lightning. Logistics how to get the set to the showroom.
Building the set: Building the interior, stage, technics and seats.
Backstage: organizing the clothing per model/walk in/dressers, the order of walk ins, feeding the workers, dressing up the models, make up and hairdressing schedules.
Guiding and taking care of the audience and media, coat rack.
Recording the show: photography, video.
Assessment and feedback.
Various professional guest lecturers visit the lectures.

Basic fashion show planning and execution as a group.
Relevancy of fashion show in fashion field marketing and communication.
The essential fashion photography methods which are learned through the photoshoot during the fashion show.

The idea of the fashion show is to gain more publicity for the school and create interest amongst the important groups and organizations such as fashion houses and possible new students. The show is also a promotional happening for the school textile projects.

Basics of color studio photography. Taking photos, editing and finishing them. Basics of fashion photo editing.
