The course covers natural fibres, synthetic fibres and fibre mixtures as well as industrially manufactured fabrics. The production and usage of textile material from the environmental point of view.

Core content level learning outcomes (knowledge and understanding)
This course provides the student with information about the names of all natural fibres and some synthetic fibres, production methods, properties, finishing methods and wash and care instructions. The student is able to compare different textile products based on their practical value and economy. He/she is able to choose the best materials for different decoration purposes.
