The history of western typography: From birth to digital era.
Basic terminology of typography, essential rules, common readability and communicational qualities.
Vectorgraphics and layout programs.

Utilizing fonts for different kind of purposes.

After the course the student is familiar how the western writing was born and has knowledge of the common history of typography. He masters the basic terms and rules and has knowledge of the communicational and expressional qualities of typography.

After the course the student can use typography as a tool in various graphical designing projects.
