Rationale
This course has been designed to enable students to gain a holistic view of the geographical area of Latin and South America and its different countries and cultures. The course will introduce students to the basic knowledge needed to do business in the region. Students will have the chance to meet representatives of the different countries from embassies, companies, etc. The students will research a topic related to the area and present the results to the rest of the class. 4th year EBA students will also participate in tutorials.

To raise the interest of the students in the area and provide a basic package of knowledge.

Opetusmenetelmät

This is a highly interactive course in which students will be given the chance to meet the different cultures through guest lecturers. The course instructor will act as a mentor to help the student develop and be critical of their choice of marketing management tools and concepts. The student will have a major role in the course, teaching their classmates about their findings, and interacting with the guest lecturers. Students should produce a "country package" report and presentation. This "country package" should comprise the basic information that a group of expatriates in a company would need before departure. Students decide how to present the package and innovative and persuasive methods are highly considered. The choice of the country is decided together in the introductory session. The rest of the class acts as jury and decides partly on the quality of the presentation. Group assessments are evaluated during the lectures.
