After completing the unit the students knowledge and practical experience is extended with switches, Local Area Networks (LANs) and Virtual Local Area Networks (VLAN?s) design, configuration and maintenance. The students can define and describe the purpose and operation of Access lists.
Students have developed practical experiences in skills related to configuring LAN?s, WAN, Novell networks, Internetwork Packet Exchange (IPX) routing and Interior Gateway Routing Protocol (IGRP) protocols and network troubleshooting.
Knowledge gained during studies is applied to a real life example (= LAN design part of the design project).
