Basic network terminology relating network troubleshooting: baselining, toubleshooting methodologies and tools. Systematical network troubleshooting and methodological network troubleshooting related to the OSI-model.

Network documentation and baselining data communication networks. Troubleshooting ISDN-networks.

After completing the unit, the student understands basic terminology relating network troubleshooting. The student knows the basics of network troubleshooting methodologies and can perform troubleshooting tasks in complex data communication networks.

Upon completion of the course, students is able to perform most common troubleshooting tasks in modern data communication networks.

Arvioinnin perusteet

Theoretical and practical learning results are tested with On-line assignments during the unit, with a practical network implementation excercise, laboratory examination and theory exam. To pass the course, an acceptable excercise, laboratory examination and theory examination is needed.
